Partnering with local organisations to provide food support to vulnerable Namibian communities.
Through the MealforTwo programme, the Gondwana Care Trust supports vulnerable communities across Namibia by partnering with local organisations and soup kitchens to provide essential food supplies. Excess meat from the Gondwana Self-Sufficiency Centre in Stampriet is distributed to schools, hostels, and community projects. Additional groceries are supplied through valued partners including Capricorn Foundation, Global United, Seapride, and Wecke & Voigts. Additionally, partnerships, funding and donations from business partners such as The Capricorn Foundation, Global United, Seapride, Kercon, The Wecke & Voigts Group, Groote Post Wines, African Marketing, Namib Poultry, Spar and Namib Mills have enabled regular food donations to support our initiatives.
At the Lighthouse Community Centre, the Gondwana Care Trust is helping build self-sufficient communities through sustainable food gardening and skills development. As an additional programme to Meal for Two, this initiative supports long-term self-sufficiency alongside daily nutrition. By providing compost, soil, manure, and vegetable seeds, the Trust enables the centre to grow fresh produce for nutritious meals for children and community members.
The garden also acts as a hands-on learning space where young people gain skills in sustainability, food security, and vegetable gardening. Through this support, the Gondwana Care Trust empowers communities in Namibia with the tools and knowledge to build lasting independence and resilience.
