Lodge Overview

Zambezi Mubala Campsite is located 40 kilometres east of Katima Mulilo under tall shady trees on the banks of the Zambezi in the far north-east of Namibia. In fishing circles, it is a favourite starting point for hooking tiger fish and many other spectacular catches.

For campers, the 10 campsites provide privacy and convenience, with private ablution blocks, power points, and barbeque facilities. Wood and barbecue packs are available on site. The eleven pitches are suitable for different group sizes and vehicle configurations and offer a peaceful retreat surrounded by lush greenery. If you don't feel like cooking, there is an à la carte restaurant with a beautiful view of the river.

Guests are welcome to cool off in the cold-water swimming pool, let their children play at the playground and browse the souvenir shop. WiFi is available at the reception, as well as mobile connectivity and 24-hour security.

Apart from fishing adventures, Zambezi Mubala Campsite offers a variety of recreational activities. Join an early morning or sunset boat cruise on the river and marvel at the vibrant birdlife; or accompany a guide on a nature walk to discover the nearby Carmine bee-eater colony. A day trip to the Victoria Falls, 200 kilometres away, completes your Zambezi experience.

Sunset Boat Cruise

Experience the golden hour on the Zambezi River on a romantic boat trip and enjoy rich bird and wildlife as the sun goes down. Refreshments and light snacks included. Departure: ± 1½ hours before sunset Duration: ± 1½ hours

Morning Boat Cruise

Capture the colours of the Zambezi River bird life on a relaxing boat cruise. Birds are abundant, with species including heron, pelican, egret, lesser flamingo, and African fish eagle. This guided boat cruise is an ideal opportunity for birding and photography enthusiasts. Refreshments and light snacks included AM Departure: ± 8:00 Duration: ± 3 hours

Fishing

Join a guided fishing trip and catch species such as catfish, tilapia, nembwe and tigerfish. 2 persons per boat. Boat and basic tackle and bait are included. A fishing license can be obtained from the Lodge but is not included in the rate. Lost or broken fishing equipment as well as drinks at guest's own expense.
