Lodge Overview
Temporarily closed due to renovation work on the main building of Namushasha River Lodge.
We look forward to welcoming you back from 2 April 2026.
Namushasha River Lodge is a magical place that combines the marvels of Namibia’s uncharted water world with the abundance of wildlife in the nearby Bwabwata National Park. There’s a unique charm and magic that captivates visitors in these northern Namibian realms as you embark on an enriching adventure into the Zambezi Region.
The lodge’s striking central entrance designed in authentic African style welcomes guests into a stunning lodge nestled among the trees. The dining room, featuring a high thatched roof and open sides, invites the river world inside, creating an airy and enchanting atmosphere. Rest peacefully in one of Namushasha’s 24 rooms, where the tranquillity of this African paradise will lull you to sleep.
As a captivating destination, Namushasha River Lodge offers an array of exhilarating activities. Board a riverboat for early morning or late afternoon cruises to explore the channels and witness diverse birdlife, or venture to Bwabwata National Park with the knowledgeable Namushasha guides. This adventure begins with a boat ride along the waterways, followed by a transfer to a game vehicle for a journey into the African bush. At day’s end, nothing compares to a breathtaking red river sunset.
Located 24 kilometres south of Kongola on the C49 (D3501), Namushasha River Lodge is the ideal stopover on your journey to Victoria Falls.
After successfully bringing refreshed design and enhanced comfort to the lodge rooms in 2024, we are now turning our attention to the heart of the lodge. In 2026, the main guest areas, including the reception, restaurant, bar, and sundowner deck, will undergo a major upgrade to create a brighter, more modern space that complements the look and feel of our newly styled rooms. To ensure a smooth renovation process with minimal disruption, the lodge will be temporarily closed from 1 January to 2 April 2026. We appreciate your understanding and are happy to assist with rescheduling any existing bookings.
Please note: In the dry season between September and December, the rivers tend to hold so little water that boat trips are limited, with little or no access to the river channels. You are welcome to enquire about the boat cruise activities upon check-in. We make every effort to maintain the activity as long as water levels permit. The safety of our guests comes first.
