We look forward to welcoming you back from 2 April 2026.

Shaded by towering grandfather trees, Namushasha River Campsite located along the banks of the Kwando River, offers six camping spots, each accommodating 6 guests. Each site is equipped to provide a comfortable stay, blending the charm of the great outdoors with essential amenities to ensure each guest has an authentic ‘bundu’ experience worth remembering.

The campsite is a gateway to the breathtaking Bwabwata National Park in the Zambezi Region. After an exhilarating guided excursion into the park, return to your riverside retreat to unwind. Gather around a crackling fire with friends and family, sharing stories under the stars while the gentle murmur of the river soothes your spirit.

Campers are invited to indulge in the facilities of the neighbouring Namushasha River Lodge. Take a refreshing dip in the sparkling swimming pool or treat your taste buds to a delectable meal at the lodge’s restaurant, just a short walk away. The riverscape, adorned with water lilies and reeds, offers a perfect backdrop for relaxation and exploration.

Whether basking in nature’s stillness or embarking on a thrilling safari, Namushasha River Campsite promises an unforgettable Namibian adventure.

After successfully bringing refreshed design and enhanced comfort to the lodge rooms in 2024, we are now turning our attention to the heart of the lodge. In 2026, the main guest areas, including the reception, restaurant, bar, and sundowner deck, will undergo a major upgrade to create a brighter, more modern space that complements the look and feel of our newly styled rooms. To ensure a smooth renovation process with minimal disruption, the lodge will be temporarily closed from 1 January to 2 April 2026. We appreciate your understanding and are happy to assist with rescheduling any existing bookings.

Please note: In the dry season between September and December, the rivers tend to hold so little water that boat trips are limited, with little or no access to the river channels. You are welcome to enquire about the boat cruise activities upon check-in. We make every effort to maintain the activity as long as water levels permit. The safety of our guests comes first.

Child Policy

Children are most welcome at all our venues. Children up to 5 years old are free of charge; for children between the age of 6 and 13 years we charge 50 per cent of the camping rate. For teenagers 13 years and older we charge the adult rates.

Game Drive into Bwabwata National Park

Many large mammal and bird species call Bwabwata National Park their home. Elephants regularly move through the park. Other species are are Cape buffalo, hippo, roan antelope, sable antelope, tsessebe, zebra, wildebeest, red lechwe, sitatunga, crocodile and predators such as lion, leopard, cheetah and spotted hyena. Join the the guided game drive into the Bwabwata National Park and learn all there is to know about it fauna and flora. Afternoon Boat Cruise

Experience an unforgettable boat trip on the Kwando River. The area around the Kwando River in the Bwabwata National Park in Namibia is home to abundant wildlife, including herds of elephants and buffalo, as well as hippos, crocodiles, and over 400 species of birds, the most known being the African fish eagles, African skimmers, lesser jacana, black coucal, wattled crane, western-banded snake eagle, shelleys sunbird, and arnotts chat. Refreshments and light snacks included. Departure: ± 15:00 Duration: ± 3 hours. Please note: This activity is seasonal and depending on water level. Morning/Sunset Boat Cruise

Welcome the new day or watch the sunset while enjoying a relaxing boat cruise on the Kwando River, listening to the guide sharing knowledge about the Kwando River system, noted for its wildlife and for most of its length the land either side is protected as game reserves or wildlife management areas. Fishing

Join a guided fishing trip and catch species such as catfish, tilapia, nembwe and tigerfish. 2 persons per boat. Boat and basic tackle and bait are included. A fishing license can be obtained from the Lodge but is not included in the rate. Lost or broken fishing equipment as well as drinks at guest's own expense.
