Lodge Overview
Just four kilometres from the Ngoma border post between Namibia and Botswana, Chobe River Camp offers a serene escape into nature’s embrace. This eco-friendly lodge is perched on the banks of the Chobe River, surrounded by breathtaking floodplains and teeming wildlife.
With its 20 tented chalets thoughtfully constructed from Mopane timber and canvas, Chobe River Camp blends rustic charm with sustainable design. The accommodations include 15 twin rooms and 5 family rooms, each offering air conditioning, en-suite bathrooms, and a tranquil retreat after an adventurous day.
Chobe River Camp is a haven for wildlife enthusiasts and birdwatchers, offering a rare opportunity to witness large herds of elephants, buffalo, and antelope. With guided activities such as morning and sundowner boat cruises, walking trails, and Canadian canoe trips, visitors can explore the diverse ecosystems and birdlife unique to this part of the Zambezi Region.
On-site amenities include a restaurant, bar, swimming pool, curio shop, and WiFi access in the reception area. For those eager to venture further, Chobe River Camp is ideally located for day trips to Chobe National Park (Botswana) and the majestic Victoria Falls, just 150 km away. Chobe River Camp promises an unforgettable journey into Africa’s wild heart.
Please note: In the dry season between September and December, the rivers tend to hold so little water that boat trips are limited, with little or no access to the river channels. You are welcome to enquire about the boat cruise activities upon check-in. We make every effort to maintain the activity as long as water levels permit. The safety of our guests comes first.
Due to the rainy season in the Zambezi Region, the access road to Chobe River Camp is currently muddy and passable only by 4x4 vehicles. At the camp turn-off, a signboard provides contact details to call our team for assistance. During the rainy season, guests must be escorted to the lodge, which may cause slight delays. Non-4x4 vehicles and buses should park at Ngoma Police Station, where guests and luggage will be transferred to the lodge. All 4x4 vehicles will be escorted in and out by our team.
